Southern Sunday Stories Ed. 3

As we get into October and the end of the year comes closer, it's natural to reflect back on the past twelve months and begin thinking of our goals for the next.
In 2024 I tried to focus on letting go of fear. While it's not something that I perfected, I think I made progress in not letting my fears hold me back from working towards the life I want. I'd like to take this opportunity to recommit to letting go of fear in the last three months of 2024.
What are you thinking of letting go of before the year comes to a close? Respond to this email to let me know and we can be accountability buddies for our goals.
XOXO, Megan

Naples Stone Crab Festival
We love our Stone Crab in Naples! I attended last year's festival and enjoyed every minute.
The Naples Stone Crab Festival is a highlight of the season, celebrating our beloved stone crab. Held at Tin City and nearby waterfront spots, the event features fresh seafood, live entertainment, boat tours, and family-friendly activities, offering something for everyone to enjoy.

What's On My Mind
Hurricane Helene
While we were very fortunate here in Naples to escape Hurricane Helene with minimal damage, other parts of the country were not so lucky. My home state of North Carolina has seen devastating flooding, with dams breaking, bridges collapsing, and people being trapped in their homes.
Please keep all of the victims of this disaster in your thoughts and prayers, and if you’re able, please make a donation to The North Carolina Red Cross.

What We're Eating & Drinking
Apple Cider Mezcal Margarita
If you love seasonal drinks, meet my favorite fall cocktail: the Apple Cider Mezcal Margarita! A perfect blend of smoky, sour, and sweet, it's an autumn twist on a classic. Prefer tequila over mezcal? Swap it out! Rim your glass with salt or cinnamon sugar and garnish with a lime, apple slice, or cinnamon stick.
Here's my simple recipe, but feel free to make it your own!
3 oz Mezcal
2 oz Fresh Lime Juice
Top with Apple Cider

Monthly Mantra
Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go. As the leaves fall, we're reminded that release can be a natural, necessary part of growth. Embrace change, trust the timing, and know that in letting go, you're making space for something new to bloom.
